Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great NYE! We had a quite night at home. Jacob was in bed at normal time and Hans and I stayed up watching a movie, and then watched the ball drop on TV, and then headed to bed by 10 after midnight!

I don't normally like to make new year resolutions, mainly because I have a hard time keeping them up. However, I am going to make one and that is to try and get through the 52 weeks in pictures this year. I felt like I was doing good the early part of last year, but then we moved and it all fell apart. So I am going to try it again!

Merry Christmas!

Wow, it has been awhile since I have updated (Sorry Nana!). Lots has happened in the past 2 1/2 months, so I will try to do a quick recap!

  • Hans and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary by going on a cruise while Jacob spent the week with Hans' parents in Colorado.
  • Hans surprised me with a trip to North Dakota to go and visit Megan and Mike while they were in Bismark!
  • November brought the start of the busy holiday season, and with that visitors! My mom and youngest sister (Sara) came to visit us for Thanksgiving.
  • December came and I went to Minnesota for Megan's baby shower on the 10th. We had a great girls weekend, and I can't wait for baby blueberry to come into the world sometime in late February or early March
  • The following weekend, Hans had a "boys" weekend in Minneapolis with some friends. They went to the NHL game on Saturday night, and the NFL game on Sunday. This was his first time seeing a NFL gave live, and it was is favorite team playing as visitors (The New Orleans Saints)
  • This bring us up to Christmas!
Jacob enjoyed coming downstairs this morning to find the family room full of new presents! He has enjoyed playing all day with all his new stuff!

Week 10 of 52 weeks in pictures!

What a week we have had here.....unfortunately we are still all sick and trying like mad to get better. I took Jacob back to the doctor on Friday and he has double ear infections again. So onto another round of antibiotics.  I am still not better, but the doctors can't figure out what exactly I have, so I am just suffering through and crossing my fingers that I am getting better. Now poor Hans started to feel sick Thursday night and has spent his weekend sick.

On Thursday, our friend Megan and her mom left to drive from Anchorage to North Dakota. :( Megan's husband and dad did the drive the week before with a U-Haul full of all their stuff. Megan and her mom made it there today. On Wednesday evening, Megan came over to say goodbye :( :( :( I took a bunch of pictures of her and Jacob as she was "Auntie Megan" him.

Hans job search: Hans received a call from the company in South Dakota that he interviewed with back in January. Apparently they have had another position open up can called to see if he was interested in interviewing for it! He had a skype interview a week ago Wednesday and they called him back Friday and want him to come to South Dakota for an in person interview!! He will  be talking to them tomorrow to set up when that will be!!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will know something soon!!!

This week we don't have much coming up, except Hans' mom is coming later Friday night!!!! She will be staying up here for 10 days!! I am so excited to see Diane and for Jacob to have some Oma time!

I almost forgot to tell you all this....but I pulled out Jacob's potty chair and he loves to sit on it!!! They have been putting him on the potty at daycare, so I figured that I would do so here at home as well! He has not yet done anything in the potty, but sure loves sitting on it!

4 years!

Today Hans and I celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary! I can't believe that we have already been married for 4 years! We have been together for 6 years as of next month. In the past 4 years we have had lots of changes, and we look forward to the changes to come for our family!

Since we married in 2006 we have seen job changes for both of us (me with different employers and opening my own business - him changes within the same company). We have bought new cars, furniture, been on a handful of vacations and most importantly started a family by welcoming Jacob into the world.

In the next year I hope to accomplish Hans getting a new job! Moving for that job and getting settled in a new place. Depending on when that actually happens, I want to then buy a house in the area within a year of us moving. Next I want to get Jacob into some kind of preschool program to allow him socializing time with kids his age and allow him to start making friends where ever we move to. Next (will somewhere in the mix) we hope to add to our family by two little feet (no I am not yet pregnant!) but we hope to be by this time next year!

To celebrate we went out to dinner last night with Megan and Mike. We had some great food with some great friends! We will miss them a lot when we move away. :( After dinner we came home and had some Cheesecake for desert! My sister Kim (she is up visiting for the week) watched Jacob for us so we could go out adults only! Then today Hans and I met up and had lunch together!

6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that Jacob is 6 months old already!!!! Hanzy had to work, so Jacob and I stayed home all day. I had some homework to get done, but Jacob had some other ideas. I think that the teeth that he is getting are about to come through so his mouth was bothering him. He only wanted to sleep on me which made doing my homework harder, but I was finally able to get it all done and turned in.

We have had a busy weekend. Jacob, Hans and I went to the Aces game on Friday and then Jacob, Brooke and I went to the Aces game last night. He did great! The ear protectors that I bought for him don't even bother him. He even falls asleep during the game.

This week is going to be another busy one and a exciting one. Auntie Jessica's 30th birthday is tomorrow, then Wednesday is our 3rd wedding anniversary. Diane is watching Jacob so that Hans and I can go out to dinner. It is also the day that Jessica and Caleb find out the sex of the twins!! (I am crossing my fingers for one boy and one girl, but will be excited no matter what!!)

I will post some pictures later. I have a sleeping baby in may arms at the moment.

On top of all that is going on, tomorrow starts my week 2 of my final set of classes! They are proving to be harder and with both Hans and I in class we are having to figure out how to balance our work/schoolwork/Jacob and both getting in enough study/homework time as well as spending time with Jacob. However I will be done in just 8 short (or some days long) weeks. I am also looking forward to graduation while we are on vacation next month.
