Hello! It has been a crazy few weeks around this house. I still can't believe that it is already November! On Wednesday night, Jacob and I leave for vacation! We are flying to visit Hans' parents, his oldest sister and her family as well as some other family that lives in CO. I am looking forward to meeting our twin nieces who are 9 months old already.
Hans heard back from the job in PA that he was not selected. He was bummed at first, but then moved on and realized that the right one for him to take will come along. He actually got notified today that a company just outside of Boston would like him to fly there next week for an interview!
We have finally gotten our first (and second, third, and I think fourth!) snow fall here in Anchorage. Jacob has loved playing out in the snow! I however have not enjoyed driving on the roads as they are super icy.
Here are some pictures from the past few weeks, as well as some pictures of my newest card creation for my moms birthday that is tomorrow! Happy Birthday mom!!!!!

PFD Day!!!!
Today is the day that Alaskans love the most! Today is the day that we all woke up to have a nice little deposit of $1,281 each in our banks accounts from the State of AK! We are being smart with ours and they went directly into savings, but let me tell you stores are CRAZY from today and for the next few weeks as people get out and spend spend spend all that "free" money. I purposely stayed away from all stores today because I knew that they would be crazy.
Jacob had his first dentist appointment today! I have been wanting to get him in for just a check as he already has all but his 2 yr molars and they are actually already trying to come in. I had originally called the dentist office that I am a patient at and they said they don't start seeing kids until age 3. I then called a pediatric dentist that my younger sisters used to see and they too didn't want to see him unless he was having a problem until he is 2.5! the reason I want him checked is so that I know that he doesn't have any problems. So today I had my 1/2 yearly cleaning and I was talking to the hygienist and she said that they could see him as she has seen patients younger than 3. Then she asked me if I could bring him back in the afternoon as they had an opening. So after picking Jacob up from daycare off to the dentists office we went. He did pretty good, they were able to get a good look, and he got a bag full of goodies! We both even got $30 gift cards from their referral program! The dentist told me that his teeth look great and to just keep brushing them 2 times a day. :)
I am really excited for the 17th as my sister Kim is coming to stay with us for a week. She is coming here to help me with a huge project that I have going on and need some extra help with. I have not seen her since Jacob and I stayed at my moms in February and went to WDW in March.
Hans' job search has been going good. He had a phone interview with a company in Baltimore earlier this week. He also received a email back from the company in PA stating that they made a mistake by sending him the email stating that he was no longer in the running and that he truly still is in the running and they will be making their decision the week of October 18th!
On Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week we had ACES HOCKEY!!!! We are very excited that the hockey season is back. These games were the preseason games where they paint the ice purple (the previous 3 years it has been pink) for cancer awareness. All the profits from the games went to the local Breast Cancer and one other cancer charity. We came to the realization that hockey games and Jacob are not going to be easy. He didn't want to sit in his seat, and would have much preferred to be able to go up and down the stairs constantly. It got so bad at Wednesday's game that we had to leave early. From now on I believe that we will be getting a baby sitter for the games that we go to.
I have finally downloaded the pictures from my camera from the last month and I will post some in the next few days! I have lots of pictures of some really cute cards that I have been making with the cricut!

No PA for us
Well today Hans' heard back form the company in PA and he was not selected for the positions. :( Now we hurry up and wait for another company to call for an interview. We just have to keep reminding ourselves that this just wasn't the right job for him and the right one is out there somewhere, we just have to be patient. Hopefully the placement department at his school will become more helpful as he reaches graduation time in December; and if not then we just sit tight until a job comes around. We have great jobs as it is and a roof over our heads so that is something to be thankful about.

Big update!
Since my last post (yea I realize it has been awhile!) We have had lots happen. My mom and youngest sister Sara, along with Sara's best friend Erika and her mom all came up to AK for a week in August. We had a blast while they were here as Jacob and I ended up playing tour guide while my mom got some work done. While they were here, we also went to the Alaska State Fair and had a great time there even if it was raining most of the time. After everyone went home, Hans, Jacob and I went back to the fair for a family day and had a blast. While we were there we went to a free concert for a local singer and Jacob LOVED it! he kept trying to go up by/on the stage and was dancing along to the music. The singer (Hobo Jim) even came off the stage at one point and knelt down and played his guitar down at Jacob's level for a few minutes!
Come September, my Niece Kaylee had her son Alanzo on the 2nd! He is such a precious little guy!

The next big thing that has happened is Hans was contacted back from a job he applied for in Pennsylvania. They had him take a test online, and after passing that they had us go there! So on September 5th, we started our trip down to PA. We had a 12 hour layover (we planned it that way) in Seattle and then continued on down. We arrived just after midnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning. On Tuesday, we had a very nice tour of the area with a local realitor and then went and walked the mall. On Wednesday Hans had to take a 4 hour long test starting at 8am, and then had his in person interview at 3. Then we headed back to Seattle on Thursday for our prior planned vacation for Hans' grandmothers 90th birthday.
While we were in Seattle, we drove down to the Portland area and went to a Brad Paisley concert! It was quite the event! There was a total of 6 artists and it lasted 7 hours! We got our moneys worth for that concert! Plus we were in row 15, so we had fantastic seats. :)
Hans parents also came to Seattle for the birthday party, so we got to see Oma!!!!! Jacob was so excited when he first saw her! We also got to see a lot of family from Hans' dad's side of the family that he has not seen since he was around 10 and that I have never met. We then spent Sunday and Monday having fun shopping and enjoying Pike Place Market until it was time to come home.
Now that we are home, Hans had one last part of the interview process with the company in PA and that took place this morning. We are hoping that we will hear back from them by Friday to know if he got the job. If he does get it, then his start date would be around the 1st of November! We really liked the area, so wouldn't mind moving there.
Jacob is doing great, and getting so big. While we were flying, he kept wanting to sit in his own seat and put the seat belt on. Thankfully on all but 2 flights there was extra seats so he was able to have his own. Tonight I took him for another hair cut as he was starting to look a little shaggy. He did ok, not as good as the last time, but we got the job done and no one got hurt.
So like I said, we are now just hurrying up and waiting to find out if we need to start packing or if the job hunt will continue. Hans would prefer to find out sooner rather than later, but that is also because there is a lot of planning to go into moving so far and kind of quickly.
