6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that Jacob is 6 months old already!!!! Hanzy had to work, so Jacob and I stayed home all day. I had some homework to get done, but Jacob had some other ideas. I think that the teeth that he is getting are about to come through so his mouth was bothering him. He only wanted to sleep on me which made doing my homework harder, but I was finally able to get it all done and turned in.

We have had a busy weekend. Jacob, Hans and I went to the Aces game on Friday and then Jacob, Brooke and I went to the Aces game last night. He did great! The ear protectors that I bought for him don't even bother him. He even falls asleep during the game.

This week is going to be another busy one and a exciting one. Auntie Jessica's 30th birthday is tomorrow, then Wednesday is our 3rd wedding anniversary. Diane is watching Jacob so that Hans and I can go out to dinner. It is also the day that Jessica and Caleb find out the sex of the twins!! (I am crossing my fingers for one boy and one girl, but will be excited no matter what!!)

I will post some pictures later. I have a sleeping baby in may arms at the moment.

On top of all that is going on, tomorrow starts my week 2 of my final set of classes! They are proving to be harder and with both Hans and I in class we are having to figure out how to balance our work/schoolwork/Jacob and both getting in enough study/homework time as well as spending time with Jacob. However I will be done in just 8 short (or some days long) weeks. I am also looking forward to graduation while we are on vacation next month.

5 months old today!!!

Jacob is 5 months old today!!!!! I can't believe he is already so big! On one hand it makes me happy to see how big he is getting and seeing him do new things. One the other hand it makes me sad because he is no longer my little baby.

Tonight I was working on my homework and Hans was holding him and he was babbling away. It sounded like he said Momma....it was so clear that both Hans and I looked at each other in disbelief! So not only is he 5 months old, but he said his first word and it was Momma!!!!!

Here are some pictures from tonight with his monthly birthday sign. They turned out cute I think, but then again I am bias.

Great Highchair!

Jacob'smom Anchorage, Alaska 9/13/2009

5 5

Pros: Portable, Lightweight, Easily Stowed, Easy to Clean, Stylish, Stable, Easy To Assemble

Best Uses: Infant Seating, Baby Seats, At Home

Describe Yourself: First Time Parent

We received this highchair off our registry from my work. We have been storing it until needed, and that time has come. We pulled it out a few weeks ago and it is so nice! We started just by putting our son in it while we eat. I have used it a handful of times to feed him in. The tray is easy to put on and get off one handed. The ability to fold it up is also great! We have limited space and needed a chair that we could truly put away when we are not using it, but be good quality when it was out and being used.

Jacob's stats and The AK State Fair

Ok so I never posted last week how big Jacob was at his 4 month check-up. He is 25 3/4 inches and 14.4 lbs!! He was in the 70% for his height and 50% for his weight.

On Saturday we went to the state fair with Oma and Brooke. We had a blast walking around looking at all the booths and eating lots of great fair food. Jacob and I will be going back this Saturday thanks to Grandma! We walked around all day and then in the evening saw Bill Engvall. He was so funny! My face hurt for a couple of days from how hard I was laughing. Jacob even seamed to enjoy the concert. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I bought this diaper bag after using a designer one for the first 4 months of my sons life. I love this bag. It holds everything that I needs and still has room. I love that when I get all the things into it that it still closes. I would buy this again in a heart beat.

Just another Tuesday

Nothing really fun happen today. Hans and I both had to work and Jacob went to Oma's. Oma had some errands to run so she brought Jacob to me at work and that is always nice. Saves me the drive all the way to south Anchorage. Jacob and I stopped at Sam's club to pick up a few items and then headed home. Hans and I both had some homework to do after eating dinner.

Tomorrow is Jacob's 4 month doctors appointment. I thought this weekend that it was today, but that was me that had an appointment. Hans is taking him to see good old Dr. Keller. I can't wait to see how much he has grown! My guess is that he is around 13 to 14 lbs and at least 25 inches.

The fun part of our evening was Jacob's bath time. We used his bath tub that my mom got us and he loved being in it! He liked the warm water and was never fussy while taking his bath tonight! Here is a picture from after our bath! Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And here are some pictures from Sunday while Jacob and Daddy were watching football and having boy time!

Lazy evening

Today Hans started his new classes! He is on his way to getting his electrical dispatchers degree. The way his classes work is he is in one at a time. So the one that he started today is 3 weeks long. He came home from work and we had dinner then he went right to work on his homework.

I picked Jacob up from Oma's today and she said that he didn't have a very good day. She thinks that his mouth was bothering him. We believe that he is teething due to the symptoms and how he is acting. Poor little guy. So because he was not in the best mood, we bypassed going to Sam's club and just came home. I made dinner and when Hans got home we ate. Then while Hans was doing his homework, Jacob and I have been just lounging around on the recliner. He keeps on wanting to nurse and will fall asleep. But as soon as I move an inch, he is back up and ready to go for a little bit. I tried to lay him down in the crib thinking that I had gotten him to fall into a deep sleep. But of course he woke up as soon as I laid him down he woke up. I let him lay in his crib and watched him from a distance. It was really funny and cool to watch him explore his crib. Since he will only sleep on his tummy, he pushed him self up and was looking all around. He was trying to grab at the Winnie-the-pooh's that are on the crib sheet! Once he realized that he couldn't grab them and put them in his mouth he scooted himself the other way and was looking all around. Then he finally flipped himself onto his back and was happy that way for a few minutes. While on his back he even managed to find his passifier and was trying really hard to pick it up from above his head and get it to chew on.

So now we are sitting here, Jacob and I as I am updating the blog and he should be going to sleep, but nope, he is sitting here filling his diaper! So on that note, we are off to go and change him and head to bed. Oh a on a good note, Hans did just fine driving today. Yes it was the 4 year mark after his accident, but it turned out to be a good day!

2nd post!

OK so I started this blog, but have not been very good about posting on it. So I am going to try and be a good "blogger" and post to it weekly. Tonight we had dinner at our friends Megan and Mike's (also known as M&M) Megan made a very yummy ham! We also got to meet Mike's grandmother who is up here visiting for the week.

Jacob is 4 months old already! He goes on Tuesday for his 4 month visit to the doctor. Hans is taking him so that I don't have to take the time off of work, and since he was able to switch his shift and not take any time off himself. Image and video hosting by TinyPic Here he is sitting up with the help of the boppy pillow! I can't believe he is already so big!

So tomorrow is kind of a bittersweet day for Hans. He is starting his new program for Electrical Dispatch, but it is also the 4 year anniversary of his car accident. We are grateful for every day since that accident. 1 week in ICU, 4 of them on life support, a total of 1 month in the hospital, 10 surgery's later and they have him most of the way put back together. He has a titanium rod in his right leg held in by 3 screws. Then he has 3 plates and 18 screws in his left arm. The doctors have cleared him to have the plates and screws taken out of his arm, but he is not to thrilled to have them taken out since it would mean another surgery that just isn't necessary. So for now he will just keep them in unless they start to bother him.

The First Post!

Hans is on the road to AZ with Mom and Kimberly....well at least they have left Anchorage and are headed out to the house to finish loading the trailer and then will be on the road. It should take them about 7 days to complete the drive including stopping at the farm to load up the things that are packed up and ready to be picked up. So for the next few weeks it is just Sara, Jacob and I to hold down the house here.
